Steel Tube Institute to Host Webinar on Hollow Structural Sections

GLENVIEW, IL, June 1, 2018 - The Steel Tube Institute will host a webinar on "How Do Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) Fit Into the Seismic World?" on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. CDT. The webinar will last for one hour and 1 AIA-accredited PDH is available per registration.


GLENVIEW, IL, June 1, 2018 - The Steel Tube Institute will host a webinar on "How Do Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) Fit Into the Seismic World?" on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. CDT. The webinar will last for one hour and 1 AIA-accredited PDH is available per registration.

After attending the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Define how HSS can be used in seismic regions.
  • Outline the requirements for connecting HSS in seismic regions for a variety of building systems.
  • Provide current prequalified connections for seismic systems utilizing HSS members. 
  • Analyze ongoing work on HSS-based moment frame systems.

A 15-minute Q&A session will be held with STI structural engineers at the conclusion of the webinar.
